Born in Montreal, Quebec, Andre studied at l'Ecole des Beaux-Arts, Montreal, from 1954-1957. He spent several years studying the Old Masters, and worked in
various mediums, including oil, watercolour and sculpture. Known for his still life and nature paintings, Andre developed a style he called "magnified realism" in the early I960s.
His work is represented in the MMFA, the MQ, the SIW, and the Brooklyn Museum, NYC.
